Privacy

This site records anonymous, aggregated usage statistics so that the maintainers can see how published research links are being used.

What is recorded

• The time of the request and which persistent link or resource was opened.
• A two-letter country code supplied by the network edge.
• The referring website hostname only, never the full referring URL.
• UTM campaign parameters when they are present in the link.
• A coarse browser, operating system and device class.
• A rotating, non-reversible visitor hash used to estimate unique visitors.

What is not done

• Raw IP addresses are never written to the database.
• No third-party analytics, advertising or social tracking scripts are loaded.
• No cookies are set for public pages; cookies are used only for administrator sign-in.
• No data is sold or shared with advertisers.
• No browser fingerprinting of screen, fonts, canvas or hardware.

Visitor counts are estimates, not exact person counts. Raw events are deleted after the retention period and only aggregated statistics are kept.
